Butler hosted its invitational tournament this past weekend, with several Bears turning in strong individual performances across multiple weight classes.

Damien Alkire claimed a first-place finish at 144 pounds, while Preston Mallatt also stood atop the podium with a first-place showing at 138. Josiah Ferrell added a third-place finish for Butler at 157.

Additional placers included Phineas Goertz, who finished fifth at 120, and DK Woolace, who earned fifth place at 165. Logan Fuller rounded out the Bears’ results with a sixth-place finish at 190.

The invitational provided Butler an opportunity to compete on its home mats while showcasing depth across the lineup.
