The Archie Lady Whirlwinds delivered an impressive performance last week, capturing the championship at the 40th Annual Midway Tournament. The girls put together a strong run through the bracket, relying on disciplined defense, efficient offense, and steady play in key moments to secure the tournament title. Their success at Midway highlighted the team’s continued growth as the season progresses.

On the boys’ side, the Whirlwinds also turned in a commendable showing, finishing as the runner-up after navigating a competitive field. Archie advanced to the championship game with a series of hard-fought victories, demonstrating resilience and consistency throughout the tournament before coming up just short in the final.

Both teams were supported by a large and energetic crowd throughout the week, as Archie fans traveled well and provided a noticeable home-court atmosphere away from home.

Individual recognition followed the team success, with Lexie Andrews, Abigail Sutton, Malayna Baer, Jackson Kash, and Michael Stevenson earning All-Tournament Team honors. Their selections reflected not only their individual performances but also the overall depth and balance of the Whirlwinds’ program.

With a tournament championship for the girls and a runner-up finish for the boys, the Midway Tournament week served as a strong statement for Archie basketball moving forward.
