The Lady Blackhawks are keeping their postseason dreams alive as District Playoffs got underway recently. In the opening round, Adrian was matched up against the Lady Bulldogs of Stover. Adrian quickly took control of the game.

The Blackhawks wasted no time, striking first and plating a run in the opening inning. Stover responded in the bottom of the frame, keeping things tight early on. By the end of the second, Adrian held a slim 3-2 lead, but the game was far from decided.

In the third, Adrian’s offense began to heat up. The Lady Blackhawks added two more runs, extending their lead and setting the tone for the remainder of the game. The bats really came alive in the sixth inning, where Adrian exploded for eight runs, blowing the game wide open and leaving no doubt about who was in control. When the final out was recorded, Adrian had secured a convincing 14-3 win, advancing to the next round of districts.

Berkleigh Pierce was a standout force on both sides of the ball. At the plate, she went 3-for-4 and drove in four runs. In the circle, she pitched all six innings, allowing only three runs on seven hits, delivering a composed and dominant performance. Dallys Shaffer also made her mark, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs.

The Blackhawks had plenty of support across the lineup. McCammon, Newkirk, and Mizell each contributed multiple hits, and the team racked up three triples and a double in the contest, showcasing their power and aggressive baserunning.

With the win, Adrian now prepares to face Windsor, who advanced after routing the Butler Lady Bears in their own first-round game. The Blackhawks will be looking to carry this momentum into the next round and continue their pursuit of a district title.
