The Bears entered district play with a solid 14-9 record on the year. They were matched up with Windsor, who Butler previously defeated by 7 runs back on April 1.
This time around, the Lady Greyhounds jumped out to an early 5-0 start after the first inning. The Lady Bears struggled offensively in the contest, as Bailey Hawkins for Windsor was able to stand in the circle for all 5 innings and only allow one hit, while holding the Lady Bears scoreless.
Throughout the ball game, Windsor was able to add 5 more runs to their 5 from the first to secure a 10-0 victory and keep their season alive.
The Lady Bears handed Windsor all of their 10 runs off of a multitude errors, as the Lady Greyhounds didn’t earn a single run in the contest. Butler only gave up 5 hits, which turned into 10 runs.
Sydney Davis was the lone Bear with a hit in the contest.
This season has been one of remarkable progress for the Lady Bears. After finishing just under .500 last year with a 7-11 record—and coming off a 7-14 finish in 2023—the Bears showed tremendous growth in 2025. They doubled their win total from the previous two seasons, closing out this year’s campaign with a strong 14-10 record.
We are incredibly proud of these ladies and the coaching staff for the hard work, resilience, and direction they’ve brought to the program. The future is bright for Lady Bears Softball!
