Tonight, the Butler Bears will head to Summit Christian for a chance to extended their 11 game winning streak, and continue to inch closer to a State Title. The Bears moved on after defeating the Adrian Blackhawks on their home court for a District Championship on Saturday.
Going into the District Title game, Butler Senior Carter Trumbore was 13 field goals away from breaking the career field goal record for Butler High School. The previous record was set by Zach Burch who ended his Bears career in 2016 with 732 made field goals. Carter was able to secure the needed 13 FGs in the win over Adrain, and set the new Butler record at 733, and counting.
This was not the only record that Turmbore would break on the night. Carter was just 6 points away from the single season points record. The record was 809, and it was set by none other than Carter Trumbore himself last year! Carter ended the night with 42 points and now has shattered his previous single season record and sits 851 for this current season.
Carter’s records are beginning to become innumerable, he now holds the career points record, career steals record, career assists record, career FG record, single season points (and 2nd place single season points), single game point record (63).
We wish not only Carter, but the entire Bears team and staff nothing but the best of luck tonight as they get ready to face off against Summit Christian! If you plan to attend the game, tickets must be purchased online!
GO BEARS!
