The Appleton City 42nd Annual Basketball Tournament is underway! There are some familiar faces in this tournament with the likes of Appleton City, Rich Hill, Hume, and Miami all making an appearance, among others.

Rich Hill came in as a 6 seed and was slated to take on the 3 seed, Chilhowee Lady Indians who came in with a 13-2 record. The first quarter saw a tight contest, as the Lady Tigers trailed by only 3 at the end of 8 minutes, with a score of 13-10.

The Lady Tigers struggled to score in the 2nd quarter, stifled by the Indians stout defense. The Lady Indians took a 23-16 lead into the break.

The Lady Tigers were able to hang around during the second half, but Chilhowee was able to come out on top with a final score of 48-37.

Maysi Miller led all scoring on the night with 18 total points for the Lady Tigers. The Lady Indians were led in scoring by Alexis Miller with 14 points.

The Lady Tigers will now take on the Lakeland Lady Vikings who fell to the Hume Hornets in the opening round with a score of 66-23.

On the guys side of things, Rich Hill comes in as the top seed and are set to take on Miami in the first round.
